Devils Lake: An Outdoor Lover’s Paradise
Located on the shores of Devils Lake, the largest natural lake in North Dakota, the town of Devils Lake offers a plethora of outdoor activities and sports, a quaint and bustling downtown, and one of the top fishing locations in the country. Originally named “Miniwaukan” or “Spirit Water” by Native Americans, the name was mistranslated to “Bad Spirit”. The name change was bolstered by legends of warriors drowned by lake monsters, and the name was eventually adapted to Devils Lake.
